Center for Revolutionary Solar Photoconversion
The Center for Revolutionary Solar Photoconversion (CRSP) is the newest research center of the Collaboratory. For more info, read the press release. (MS Word 536 KB)
CRSP is dedicated to the basic and applied research necessary to create revolutionary new solar energy technologies as well as education and training opportunities. The research underpins renewable energy technologies, commonly called third generation solar photon conversion, for the highly-efficient and cost-competitive production of both electricity and fuels via direct solar processes.
CRSP institutions make available their capabilities for shared and sponsored research projects with CRSP members as well as for federally funded research. CRSP is a collaborative effort among the four Collaboratory research institutions, and its company members play an important role in the center. Membership in CRSP allows companies and other organizations to learn about and participate in advances in solar cell science and technology.

The operations of CRSP are administered by its Executive Board and Advisory Panel. Presently, the CRSP Executive board includes:
Scientific Director: Dr. Arthur J. Nozik, an award-winning Senior Research Fellow at NREL
Co-Directors: Dr. David Jonas at CU, Dr. Mike Elliott at CSU and Dr. Craig Taylor at CSM
Managing Director: Paul Nelson, affiliated with both NREL and CU
The CRSP Advisory Panel is composed of one representative from each of the member companies. Among other roles and duties, CRSP member companies play a key role in identifying shared research areas of focus and selecting projects for funding. Founding members are those companies that have joined CRSP by March 31, 2008. Additional companies and other organizations will have the opportunity to join CRSP after that date.
